The iPhone 5 lackluster release

Left to right: iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPhone 4
Consumers are finding out what most techies already knew. The iPhone 5 has not pushed mobile technology forward. The latest iteration of Apple’s cultish gadget merely catches up with the rest of the field.  The major feature upgrades for the iPhone 5 are a larger screen, better display resolution, LTE network support, turn by turn navigation, and a faster processor. Reserve the faster processor and the rest of these features are already present in Google’s Android and Windows powered devices, Apple’s chief rivals in the mobile phone market. The initial sales of the iPhone 5 have underwhelmed with only 5 million units moving in the first three days. This has led to a $9 dollar drop in Apple’s stock prices as of Monday morning. Despite the initial sales being lower than analyst expectations, Apple is still facing a probable shortage of the iPhone 5. On the Apple website the phone is available to ship in four weeks.

What elevates the iPhone product line and what Apple has continued in the iPhone 5 is the sleek and stylish design of the phone.   Apple has won and continues to win the battle for the hip and trendy consumer. This past summer Apple won a heated lawsuit against Samsung to protect its product design.  The iPhone 5 has a larger screen, is lighter, and is svelter.  Outside of this and some shifting of the ports on the phone, the iPhone 5 represents the iPhone product line much as its predecessors have but with a more competitive edge.

The bottom line is the iPhone 5 is a great looking phone that now has the features that once gave its competitors a competitive advantage. If you are a upgrading from your existing iPhone, the iPhone 5 will give you what you have loved about your phone and some of the features that you were jealous that your friends had and you didn’t.  If you do not currently own an iPhone, you may want to give some consideration to the other smart phones out there like the Samsung Galaxy S3 or Motorola Razr Hd. The Samsung Galaxy S3 and Motoroal Razr Hd offer sleek and stylish designs with more features than the iPhone 5.

Girl You Remind Me of My Ipad!

Woman With Ipad
Women you must realize that you are not a monopoly. There are plenty of other women available. Some women are even willing to set their standards lower in order to get more demand than you. They are happy to play Walmart and give their goods away for less. This sad truth forces many women to choose to adjust their standards to compete.

Men win when women lower their standards. This happens because the cost to play comes down giving them more for less. Stop this and start acting like an IPad or IPhone. There are plenty of tablets and phones that can be had for cheaper than the Apple branded products. However, launch after launch the demand for all things Apple has remained high. This is because Apple's image is one characteristic of quality, beauty, and sophistication. Apple doesn't care that they potentially lose customers due to their higher price points. Apple only cares about it's image. Accordingly, Apple manufactures its value to reinforce this. Ladies, I challenge you to reinforce your value. Now that is truly Sexy!

How I Got the Work From Home Job I Always Wanted

There is a well-known saying, ‘Ask and you shall receive.’ Young children often have this theory perfected to a fine art. They keep asking till they get what they want. This demonstrates our innate determination, faith and expectation. Asking for what you desire can be a great opening to new opportunities. To increase your chances of success it is often valuable to reflect upon the most appropriate people to ask for assistance. What opened the doorway for my ultimate career move was not only my winning interview but the knowledge I was able to gain about the position through my contacts.  I believe firmlly in the old addage that "knowledge is power."

1 Get in touch with your own intuition and check if what you are desiring is for your greatest benefit. One of the ways to do this is to imagine that you already have what you desire. Then ask yourself: How do I feel? is this a worthy goal? Does it affect people in an uplifting way?

2 In order to get a clearer message try  praying, meditation, reflective thinking, yoga, dancing, relaxation, daydreaming etc.

3 When you are sure of your intention, make a list of the people you can ask for assistance. This is where mentoring often comes into play.

4 Determine that you are going to do what it takes to achieve your intention.

5 Do research. Find out as much as you can about the people you want help from.

6 Make a list of what you think they can help you with. Most successful people are extremely busy, so it will be in your best interest to be well prepared.

7 Link how they can help you to how you can help them.

8 Ask for less rather then more, especially in the beginning. If you want them to mentor you, ask if they would be willing to spend 10 minutes a month giving you advice.

9 When you finally decide to call or meet somebody create an atmosphere that supports you. Wear something that makes you feel good, have all your questions ready, affirm to yourself that you are a success. Be positive.

10 Even if you receive a refusal, congratulate yourself for giving it a go. You have succeeded because you tried. It is an important step in the right direction. Then choose someone else and try again. You can only gain.

10 Simple ways to Clear Clutter from your Home and Office

I now telework from home.  While converting my spare bedrooms into a home office I had to finally admit to myself that I am a Clutter Bug. As a result of all of the hard work, I sat down and scribed these 10 Commandments for myself.
Clear the clutter and clear your mind.
  1.  There are only three things aloud on your writing desk: a lamp, a small keepsake, and a photograph or two. That's it! When you get up from your desk put everything else away except those three things.
  2. Sort your mail as soon as it comes in, then recycle, throw out, file, or respond. No piles and no promise to go through it later.
  3. Spend ten minutes a day walking through the house with a large shopping bag. Grab at least three things from each room in the house that you can throw away.
  4. Have a special reading box or basket- Sort through magazines or articles you want to read and tear out the articles you are interested in and recycle the rest of the magazine.
  5. Make sure you sort your email so you never have more than 3-5 things in your in box at any one time.
  6. Set up project files in Word to keep track of important things you are working on. Designate a separate file for each project or focus. You won't have to hunt for your information when you need it.
  7. Shred unwanted office paper and use it for garden mulch, cat litter, or starting a nice fire in the fireplace.
  8. Learn to say NO. Or at least get in the habit of asking for a day to think the request over. This will clear out clutter from your schedule.

  9. Make a rule that everything has a drawer, cabinet, basket, bin, or shelf it belongs on put nothing on the flat surfaces in your house.

  10. Write down all of those things that are running around your brain nagging you. Sort them into three categories.
  • 1. Things that will help me accomplish my goals that are Really important to me.
  • 2. Things I think are urgent or burning.
  • 3. Things I should do
Be honest and ruthless when you sort this list. Stop doing everything that falls under  3. Everything that falls under 2. Delegate to someone else or eliminate them all together.

Ten Reasons To Choose A Good Girl Over A Bad Girl

As much as men groan about nice guys finishing last, nice girls often have to take a back seat until a man is ready for marriage.  There is an old joke that goes Good girls say, "No;" bad girls ask, "When?"  A bad girl may serve as eye candy and her sex appeal may make your boys drool but most men know that a lady in the streets and a vixen in the bedroom makes for a thrilling relationship. Without further ado, here is my Top Ten Reasons To Choose A Good Girl Over A Bad Girl.

1.When she has you wrapped around her finger she chooses to empower you rather than overpower you.

2.You don't have to worry about leaving her alone with your mom.

3. She makes your guy friends jealous. Not because of her physical qualities but because of her nurturing qualities.

4. She knows how to sit on a pedestal. You can spoil her without fear of her becoming an entitlement brat.

5. She is willing to make sacrifices for you without expecting anything in return.

6. She shares her body with you, she doesn't reward you with her body.

7. She knows how to be a sultry vixen without tarnishing her classiness.

8. She doesn't settle for just being a friend with benefits.

9. She doesn't settle for just being a girlfriend.

10. She reads a list like this to see how she can be a better mate.

Don't Cheat, Buy Local

When you buy local, statistics show that more money stays in your community.  More than that, the circulation speed of your dollar accelerates when it stays local. Think of it like this.  The big box national chains make larger profits than your local corner store. A local business owner has to put more money than the big guys back into their business.  Employee salaries, marketing, and inventory replenishment hit local businesses harder than the big guys.  This is where the circulation speed of your dollar comes into play.  Since local business owners have less of their money to sit on the cash flow pipeline maintains a steady flow.

The benefits of buying locally don't just stop with the increased velocity of money in the local economy.  One of the key benefits of buying locally is the community identity that is shaped.  Travel through any city and there are a half a dozen or so national chain businesses that you can expect to see.  Look at like this.  When you are on vacation is it not more appealing to seek out that great local eatery over the typical restaurant franchise?  Unique businesses help differentiate your city from neighboring cities. It gives your community an identity that is distinctive.

Buying locally is not always an option but thinking "local first" opens the doorway for increased benefits to our communities.

Free Websites for Georgia Businesses

97% of consumers look online for local products and services but 54% of small businesses in Georgia do not have a web site or web presence. In this social media dominated era it is crazy for a business not to be actively engaged with current and potential customers online. So why do businesses fail to capitalize on the increasing levels of Internet consumption demanded by consumers? Mainly, small business owners wrongfully believe that getting online is complex and requires web coding experience. Further, there is a misconception that getting online is costly and time-consuming. Really getting your business online is simple, cheap, and easy.  The state of Georgia has developed a new partnership that makes it quite simple.

In February, Georgia Governor Natahan Deal, announced a partnership with Google that will bring free websites to small businesses throughout Georgia. This has become the "Georgia Get Your Business Online" campaign. Google is bringing along with them another partner in Intuit who is providing access to its popular Intuit Websites Free for a full year. After your initial year you will need to open up your wallet but that cost is a low as $7.99 a month.

So what are you waiting for, M-Ike Johnson recommends this, so hit this link

How To Ace An Interview

Penmanship counts

Make sure your application is legible and error free. Your resume should be error free as well.

Interviewing from the start

Dress professionally when you pickup and drop-off your application.

Dress for success

Call the receptionist prior to your interview and see what their dress code is and dress one level above that. Tattoos should be covered and excessive piercings should be removed. Men should remove all piercings. Never wear jeans or sneakers to an interview even if that is what your uniform might end up being. At the very least men should wear khakis with a buttdown or polo style shirt tucked in. A man's pants should not sag and thy should have a belt. Women should avoid open-toe style, stiletto or very high heels, and loud prints. Flip flops, mules, or clogs are also a no go. Stay with neutral makeup and nail polish. Stay away from see through and sparkle or sequined clothing. Wear simple jewelry. No bling bling or large hoops, bangles, or charm bracelets.

Go into interview mode as soon as you step out your door.

That guy you flip off in traffic might just be an interviewer. The woman you cutoff and take a parking spot from just might be an interviewer. That woman watching you rock out with your radio at full blast to the latest Lil Wayne song might just be an interviewer. That guy listening to your talk on your cell phone might just be an interviewer.

Be early

About 10 minutes early is what you are looking for.

Don't be a jerk

That security guy checking you in and that receptionist you confirm your presence with might just be asked what they think about you. You never know so treat everyone with respect.

Don't sit down until told

It signals that you are open to direction.

Be enthusiastic

Don't just answer questions be prepared to offer stories that illustrate your strengths.
Let the interviewers see how excited you are about the job prospect.

Maintain eye contact but don't stare

Failure to maintain eye contact may communicate weakness. Failing to maintain eye contact long enough can also communicate shiftiness.

KISS

Keep it simple stupid by answering questions succinctly and to the point. Do refrain from answering with just yes or no.

Be engaged

Nod your head and show that you are actively listening.

Ask for clarity

If a question stumps you or you simply don't understand what answer the question merits, Ask for it to be repeated or clarified.

Have an elevator pitch ready

Be prepared to offer a 30 second pitch about yourself.

Don’t flame old employers

If you will talk poorly about your old employers then what will you say about them? Stay positive when asked about previous employers.

Do you homework

Nothing says dummy like asking a question that you could have easily found out by checking the company website or searching for the answer on Google.

Bring your notebook

Prior to the interview mark down discussion points that you want to highlight during your interview.
Also, note three questions to ask about the position or company. Ask permissions to take notes during the interview. They are doing it so why shouldn’t you.

See Where you stand

Don't be afraid to ask where do you stand compared to their ideal candidate. Also ask how you compare with other applicants they have interviewed. Their answer to this question will give you a good feel for how you did in the interview.

Ask for the job

If the interview goes well let the interviewer know that you are excited about the possibility of working with them.

Protecting Your Online Reputation

Gone are the days when the biggest draw of the internet was the anonnymity that the medium offered users. In the Facebook era the interent is all about interconnectivity. We are increasingly sharing more personal data about ourselves. Platforms like Twitter and Facebook allow us to share what we are listening to, looking at, playing, reading, and eating. This is not necessarily a negative but we all must be cautious of the image our online personas present. All it takes is a little negative content about you on a search engine results page (SERP) and your online reputation can easily become blemished. Online Reputation managment is no longer just a concern for businesses with employers increasingly using online interactions as factors in their hiring decisions. Here are some tips on how you can polish your Online Reputation and better brand yourself.

Do an online search on yourself

Know what’s out there about you. Google your name. Put quotation marks around your name for a more specific search . Specify the city where you live, your employer, or other search terms that relate to you. Typically, you should be concerned with the first four pages of content given that this is how deep most people go when searching. Search all variations of your name. Remember to search for your nickname if you commonly use it, your middle name or initial, or if your name is frequently misspelled, check these as well. Be sure that you logout of your Google account. Since Google keeps track of what you click, your results will be different than what an employer sees

Remove negative content

Delete and remove tags from photos that may portray you in an unflattering light, and remove references to polarizing affiliations.  Some people will advise you to remove political and religious affiliations but this is a call you must make for yourself.

Content is king

Not all negative content can be removed easily but there is still something you can do about it. You can bury the negative content by posting positive content. The easiest thing to do that is create your own Website, like www.johndoe.com, or sign up for a blog on Wordpress or LiveJournal that has your name in the URL. Almost always your site will show up first in a search, pushing anything negative down the list. You can also take advantage of social networking sites like LinkedIn, Flickr, and Tumblr, since their pages rank high in Google and will be at the top of search results of your name. Simply open an account, input the bare minimum amount of info, and set it so that it can be publicly searched—you don’t have to actively use the site.

Become an expert on something

If you are looking to dominate the search enginge results pages position yourself as an expert in your field or hobby. You can do this by posting opinions or answering questions on sites like Twitter, LinkedIn or on a personal blog. It's easier than you think and you don't even have to post every day. You simply need some well-placed content on high traffic.

Don't lockdown all of your social media

It is not necessary for all of your social media accounts to be publicly visible. Just like it's not necessary for to heighten all of your privacy settings to make sure all of your content stays among your family and friends. If you are concerned with privacy, it may be a good idea to reserve some certain social media sites for your personal playground. For example, you could keep your Facebook information locked down and provide access only to close friends and family members while using Twitter, Tumblr or LinkedIn to form online connections and generate public facing content.
